Barcelona to Host First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
